What you can do with a template.

Personal licence

For you, your team, or one brand you own or work for directly. You may:

• edit the template as much as you like — text, colours, images, layout;
• use what you make from it in as many of your own projects as you like, online and in print;
• keep using it for as long as you like. There is no expiry.

Commercial licence

Everything in the Personal licence, plus client work:

• make designs from the template for people who pay you, and hand them the finished result;
• use it across any number of clients and projects.

Under either licence, you may not

• share, forward, resell or give away the template itself — the Canva link, the file, or an unedited copy;
• sell or distribute the template, or a lightly changed version of it, as a template;
• claim the design as your own work, or register it as a trademark or logo;
• use it in anything unlawful, defamatory or discriminatory.

A Canva template arrives as a “use as template” link that copies it into your own Canva. That link is for you: forwarding it gives someone a free copy, and it is the one thing this licence asks you not to do.

Fonts and stock elements

Templates use fonts and elements that are licensed for this purpose, or that Canva provides. If a template calls for a paid font you do not have, the listing says so, and the seller will have chosen a free fallback.
